For Immediate Release Marilyn Jensen - Biography Marilyn Jensen has been a Jersey girl all her life. When Marilyn was a teenager, she was introduced to the world of antiques when
she went with a friend to a flea market. As a result, she started collecting and selling antiques and general
household goods. Nine years ago Marilyn decided to start her own business, Estate
Sale Services, on a full time basis. Although the going was rough at times with a start-up business,
all her effort is paying off. She has had to hire part-time helpers to assist her with estate sales and
paperwork. She is known as the “tag sale lady” and her company motto is “cottage to mansion”.
To enhance her new career, Marilyn contacted David Rago, a leading expert in Arts
and Crafts Pottery and a regular appraiser on the Antiques Roadshow, who offered her the opportunity to work
at the auction house on appraisal days. By collaborating with Rago’s team
of appraisers, Marilyn further developed her appraisal skills and established herself in the field as an expert.
In this capacity, she has worked with prominent New York City dealers to flea market vendors. When
clients began asking her to market and sell their homes in addition to their personal possessions, Marilyn decided to pursue
her real estate license, which she now has. She realized that this would be a natural progression and allow her to better
handle her customers’ needs. Marilyn is well
known in the community and has coordinated antique show events for various charities, and has been a Guest Lecturer
for Trash or Treasure, Saint Peters Hospital
Women’s Auxiliary, Brunswick Women’s Connection and the Friends of the Willingboro Public Library. Marilyn has an 21-year-old
son who is in college and that will allows her more time to pursue her dreams. She is in the process
of writing a fiction book based on her adventures in the field. She loves what she does and feels privileged
to be able to have a career that is so fulfilling.
